The client, an independent plumbing business owner, needed a modern, visually appealing website to attract new customers. I led the project - designing and building the site using Squarespace.
With only a logo and a basic colour palette to work from, I opted for a clean and minimalist design that aligned with the client's brand identity. Based on analytics from their previous website (which showed most traffic came from desktop users) I prioritised a desktop-first layout, while still maintaining repsonsiveness, to optimise the user experience for their audience.
While I didn’t follow the full five-stage design thinking process due to the client’s limited budget and timeline, I did take time to research successful examples of similar websites. From there, I created wireframe sketches to establish a clear direction for the design. This approach helped align expectations early on and ensured the client and I shared a clear vision before development began in Squarespace. I also created custom assets using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to support the final design.
